Narayana Murthy is so much like Bill Gates for India. Last weekend, I was watching him on Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai - Zee TV talk show celebrating lives of great personalities.
Anyways, I happened to read about his pre-commencement lecture at New York university. He talks about his life and career lessons. In brief, they are:
1. Learning from experience: It is important how and what you learn. The quality of learning should be high and the development gradient should be steep enough.
2. Power of chance events: It matters a lot how you react to them. The quality of how systematically we react to chance events, is crucial.
3. Growth mindset: Skills and abilities should be developed by taking on challenges and learning from criticism. That is how we go to next level.
4. Self-knowledge: It helps in developing more grounded belief in oneself, courage, determination and humility.
I found it quite inspiring, so sharing it with fellow bloggers..
