Protest against 'Taare Zameen Par' in Gujarat

Protest against 'Taare Zameen Par' in Gujarat

What do you say about this? I hate to generalize my opinion, but it sucks.

For once I believed media should act sensibly and not publish such things, but then that hampers freedom of expression. So, I guess, it is for the people to decide what to follow and what not to follow.

Tum Chalo To Hindustan Chale

One very famous youtube video is getting exchanged in Orkut albums now a days.
It really teaches something. It speaks about self-responsibility.

We often blame our surroundings for whatever happens to us. If we all start start taking responsibility of our surrounding, World would be better place to live.

Quotes for the day

Dealing with people is a lot like digging for gold:when you go digging for an ounce of gold you have to move tons of dirt. But when you go digging, you don't go looking for the dirt, you go looking for the gold.

To be always intending to make a new and better life but never to find time to set about it is as to put off eating and drinking and sleeping from one day to the next until you're dead

Thats what it takes...

Two coffee cups and Doritos,
Thats what it takes to finish my homework

A ruined night and sleepy eyes
Thats what it takes to finish my homework

A drowsy day ahead, and soporific lectures
Thats what it takes to finish my homework

A promise not to repeat this again, but still do
thats what it takes to finish my homework

4 crappy lines I write with my tired fingers
Thats what it takes to finish my homework :)

Some Quotes

* People in their right minds don't take pride in their talents.

* The real voyage of discovery consists not in making new landscapes, but in having new eyes.

* What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters as compared to what lies within us.

* Courage is not absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important that fear.

Going to US. Is it a big deal???

me: I am going to so and so univ.
x: Oh great!!! So your life is set..
me: (What to say on this?)
me (To myself) :Ghanta!!! New life is gonna start now, forget about setting up.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

me: yaa, I am going for higher studies to US.
y: Wow!!! So, are you gonna come back???
me(To myself) : In which world do you live, buddy??? I am not going to another planet :P :P :P
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

z: Remember me when you go there.
me: Come on, How can I forget you?
me(To myself): I am not suffering from amnesia, dude :P
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now a days I am facing such countless occasions. People get euphoric with the thought of going to US. They forget following things:
1. I am going to US to study. Uncle Sam is not waiting there for me with red carpet pulled.
2. I will have to start living independently, something I have not done for past 21 years of my life.
3. You get dues if you work hard, is the ultimate truth of life. It is applicable everywhere in the world (Amrika included). I won't be getting anything on silver platter.
4. US is no more a country which is 7 seas away from here.

Sorry for mocking all my well wishers. I just want to say take it easy. It is a usual affair. I know you love me, you hope for my best and I am very very grateful for that. :)

Confidence, Trust & Hope.

Life can never be certain. Somethings always remain beyond control. Following are not my words. But they aptly put what I want to say:

CONFIDENCE
Once, all village people decided to pray for rain. On the day of prayer all people gathered and only one boy came with an umbrella.
That's Confidence

TRUST
Trust should be like the feeling of a one year old baby when you throw him in the air, he laughs......because he knows you will catch him. That's Trust

HOPE
Every night we go to bed, we have no assurance to get up alive in the next morning but still you have plans for the coming day.
That's Hope

HAVE CONFIDENCE, TRUST YOURSELF & NEVER LOSE HOPE.

Keep Smiling :)

Zindagi ke safar mein gujar jate hain jo mukaam....

I never thought I would feel so sad while leaving VJTI. Yesterday and the day before that, when everybody was saying goodbye, I hardly realized that it could become our last meeting. Slowly the feeling is sinking in. People with whom I laughed, wrote (i.e. copied :D ) tons of assignments, did dhamaal in canteen, sat leisurely in quadrangle, partied at Garnish, Central Peninsula, will not be with me tomorrow.

Then my other mind says that its a part and parcel of life. You go from one place to another. You meet new people, you make new friends. Life is to be lived in present, not in past.

I learnt a lot in these four years. I saw few ups and downs. I met some of the finest minds and purest hearts. All I am going to take ahead are these golden memories of VJTI.

A chapter closed in my life. New chapter begins. And I am ready for it with arms wide open.

Few lines which aptly put my current state of mind:

"Zindagi ke safar mein gujar jate hain jo mukaam
Woh phir nahi aate.. phir nahi aate...."

Vote me!!!

With election fever reaching its peak, Sankalp Shere is also preparing to try his luck in elections. Let us see what he has got...

1. I am not affiliated with any political party, so I have nobody to fight inside my party :)
(Actually I went to many parties, but now a days "rates" are too high. :( )
2. Also, I have not split from any party, so I won't waste my time in abusing my X-mates.
3. I am not coming to you with same old promises. (I have taken the best out of everybody's promise bag ;) )
4. I have no criminal record. (I'm not able to figure out whether this is my USP or weak point :D )
5. I will give you bright future. ( ambiguity always helps ;) )
6. I will provide 24 hours water (applicable in rainy season only :P),
7. I will eradicate poor.... oh sorry, poverty.
8. In my rule, everybody from my ward will get job. (When I'll make money I'll need somebody to serve me :P)
9. I will eliminate crime from my ward. (There will be monopoly. My monopoly .. hahahahha)
10. I have not failed to deliver any of my previous promises. ( Beginner's advantage :D )
11. I have been very *active* in social service and politics. (I broke 4 gift shops on valentine day. Also, I brought entire Churchgate- Borivali local train to halt during recent bandh.)
12. I won't come back, if I fail to deliver my promises. (Whether I failed or not will be decided by me though ;) )

Wow!!! Looks like Sankalpbhai has got something. You should vote for him.

P.S. : On serious note, Voting is very basic and really important right given to us by democracy. If we don't vote, we lose moral right to complain against those elected.
Don't vote for the sake of voting.
Don't vote a person / party because your dad, grandpa voted for him/it.
Make sure you vote for the right person. Voting wrong person is worse than not voting.

Ok here I stop preaching. I remember that I have to go to exercise my right to vote.

The difference

Company: Google.
Formed: 8 years ago.
Employees: 6000.
Net worth: $128.36 billion.

Company: Infosys.
Formed: 25 years ago.
Employees: 53000
Net worth: $ 28.95 billion

(Source: Express Computer, IT business weekly)

Google's might is in its innovations. Every now and then we hear and see something "happening" at Google. And Infosys is an Indian star in service sector. It has perfectly caught the nerve of Indian job market. The increasing number of college graduates , knowledge of English makes us perfect destination for service sector jobs.

But, if we really want to be a super-power we need something more. We need something of our own. We need entrepreneurs. We need our innovations. Somebody has rightly said, "If we are to become a super-power, we only need 100 successful entrepreneurs."

And that made all the difference

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler,
long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and
wanted wear Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads onto way, I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence;
Two roads diverged in a wood,
and I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.

May God make your year a happy one!

Not by shielding you from all sorrows and pain,
But by strengthening you to bear it, as it comes;

Not by making your path easy,
But by making you sturdy to travel any path;

Not by taking hardships from you,
But by taking fear from your heart;

Not by granting you unbroken sunshine,
But by keeping your face bright, even in the shadows;

Not by making your life always pleasant,
But by showing you when people and their causes need you most,
and by making you anxious to be there to help.

God’s love, peace, hope and joy to you and your family for the year ahead.
